ACTIVATE
A. Directions for Output 1:
1.       In a triad, prepare an oral  presentation about any one of the following topics:
·         the process of transmitting and perceiving, with communication elements in action
·         definitions of communication and characteristics of the communication process
·         communication models in different situations
·         communication principles and ethics
·         contexts/perspectives of communication
·         purposes/ functions of communication
·         overcoming communication barriers
·         intracultural communication
·         intercultural communication
·         global communication and world Englishes
·         varieties and registers of spoken and written language
·         (You may add related sub-topics depending on the class size)
2.       Without duplication on the use of presentational aids, each triad needs to coordinate with other groups and closely with the subject professor/instructor.
3.       Refer to evaluation rubrics for the group rating.

B. Directions for Output 2:
1.       In a group of five or six members, conceptualize a “cause-oriented or socio-civic oriented activity”, like “Dance for Typhoon/ Earthquake victims”, “Concert for the Cancer Victims”, “Run for a Cause”, or “Riverside Clean-up Drive”, etcetera.
2.       Make or design invitations for people/ audience to join this cause-oriented or socio-civic oriented event.
3.       The group may use at least three among the following modes for the invitations: email, facebook, twitter or any social media forms, print and/or electronic.
4.       As stipulated in the STUDY section, be sure to indicate all necessary detail or information the audience needs to know.
5.       Submit to class or email your invitations in different formats within three working days.
6.       Refer to the rubric to evaluate your group output 2.

2.       Visual
·         Technical Aspects: (lines, shapes and forms, color, space, principles, balance and harmony, pattern, proportion, emphasis, contrast, movement, rhythm, unity and perspective) Are these aspects in complementation to create a beautiful/ intelligible visual display?

3.       Multimodal Choice
·         Does the multimodal choice justify/facilitate the sending and perceiving of the intended message?

C. Directions for Output 3:
1.       In the same group assignments, come up with a multimodal material about your invitation (in Group Output 2).
2.       This can be a video presentation about the previously conceptualized “cause-oriented and or soci-civic oriented activity.
3.       Consider the following workshop mechanics:
·         identify specific marginalized group
·         in your multimodal make a slogan for easy recall
·         create an image for the audience to easily remember
·         make the image persuasive to the viewers and audience
·         upload your video in Facebook and tag your instructor/professor
·         keep a file of your video presentation


4.       Refer to same rubric used in rating group output 2.

  1. For me, As a beginner. I've learned a lot about communication last year ago, And It's different about purposive communication, but also they have the same in what we can call activity of communication to perform in different areas whether in public speaking, writing and reading an essays and poems. It helped me so much when I entered senior high, The communication is in my first subject that I started to take. I enjoyed it, nowadays even though at home I'm enjoying to gather whar is communication and in the importance of that. Hoping a huge benefit to learn it is helping me to boost my confidence to speak.
